Just because someone doesn't leave you a comment doesn't mean they're not reading your blog :)

Great question: should one blog for him/herself or for the audience? I've dealt with this same issue and my topics for writing have evolved as have my goals of the site. I started off with personal posts describing school and family. Today I'm usually writing about work related subjects as I feel it might help land a full-time job if the potential employer can see that I have an understanding and interest in what I do. Everyone has a different reason to blog. Personally, I think the best bet is to pick something your passionate about and devote your blog to that. Maybe add a car category in your case and post some of your concept sketches or something like that.

Basically, what he said. Blogs are so numerous that I barely read any of them more than once per week, unless it's a close friend or something similar. Just do it because you want to / like writing. Whatever works for you. Or don't do it, for the same reasons.

You blog for you. I've had this debate with myself over and over, for over 5 years. Why do I do ZSN? Why do I put hours into something that people might not even look at? Because I have fun doing it. I'm going to do it regardless of whether or not any one is reading it. I do it for me. Sure, you need to keep your audience in mind when writing, but don't write for them, write because you enjoy it. Also, as i have come to slowly accept, only, like 10% of your readers leave comments. Ever. And it's the same 10% over and over.
