Trees and Blogging

Monday, March 26th, 2007

I’ve spent the 25 days since my previous update in thought. No, I haven’t been sitting here every night contemplating the meaning of life, but I have been thinking about an old riddle; If a tree falls in the forest and nobody hears it, does it make a sound?

What is my point? I have had this blog going on 8 months, not even a full year and yet I find myself less than motivated to keep it updated. My version of the riddle as it applies to me: If a blogger writes for the web and nobody comments on it, who is that person writing for?

I know that sometimes my topics of choice may not be in everyones area of interest, but my hope is that someone will find something that resonates with themselves in the words that I write or the things that I link to that I find interesting. My greatest hope is that whomever is interested by the things I share, shares their knowledge and experiences with me.

And we all know that trees blog for themselves.
