100 Things We Didn’t Know Last Year
BBC has posted a list of 100 things we didn’t know last year. Some of these things I have a hard time believing, but here they are nonetheless. Here are a few of my favorites:
32. Barbie’s full name is Barbie Millicent Roberts.
40. The medical name for the part of the brain associated with teenage sulking is “superior temporal sulcus”. (The Emocampus?)
64. Hexakosioihexekontahexaphobiacs is the term for people who fear the number 666. (I think thats tougher than Honorificindinitabilius)
76. In Bhutan government policy is based on Gross National Happiness; thus most street advertising is banned, as are tobacco and plastic bags.
87. Goths, those pasty-faced teenagers who revel in black clothing, are likely to become doctors, lawyers and architects. (yikes)

Pretty funny, some are outright retarded though. One example: “Goths, those pasty-faced teenagers…” are just as likely to become high-school dropouts, Burger King employees, or the President. (Our current one is special-ed practically, so it’s not that much of a stretch.)
I like the Gross National Happiness one though, too bad it’d probably outlaw all the fun stuff.

I’d like to note that I always knew all of this stuff… but to make sure they got it right, I’m going to read this article, because I love lists and count downs.

I knew you knew that I already knew all the stuff on these lists. I also know that you knew that I love lists.

Speaking of knowing and not knowing, P.O.S. and Gym Class Heroes are coming to Boston, Saturday Feb 17th! You should come to Boston too! Also, I believe I am falling in love with P.O.S.’s label mate, Dessa.

Anyway! You should come down here so we can see POS and GCH.
Also, you can find Dessa on the dreaded Myspace. She replied to my comments, which is a sign that her and I are destined to be with each other… or that she just sold me a CD.
