On things to come and places I’m going
So, its been a while. Still working on the new site. Got a little discouraged tonight after I spent about an hour wondering why my page wasn’t valid. Turned out to be the editor for some reason. Once I had uploaded the new site to the web, it validated just fine. That got me a little discouraged. Only really cause I wasted so much time and I hadn’t even made a mistake. On the other hand, I did get a few things updated and sorted out. I think I am going to change a few more things. Again, things are snowballing into much larger projects than I originally anticipate. But hey, what else is new? Right now I am having a little bit of a problem figuring out what other content, if any, that I would like to have on the site.
In other news, I am planning a trip out west to go snowboarding for a week. Not sure as to where and when yet, but I will be sure to post once I figure it out. If anyone knows of some good mountains out west, be sure to leave a message or email me.
It also appears as though my goal of moving out of my house by my birthday will be missed. I am not too worried about it though as my new goal is early 2007. No hard dates yet but I know for certain that I will be out of here by then. Living at home has its pros and cons, but I am ready for a scenery change. Time and jobs will tell where my next residence will be

Definitely map out what your site needs before doing any design or code work. I had a span where I kept bookmarking cool ideas, color schemes, navigations, etc. and thought I was going to be nifty and incorporate them all into my site. The resulting layout was neat, but it really didn’t work with the content I wanted so it never got launched. I’ll be taking advantage of my web design project time in Publications this semester to redo the site again with emphasis on function over form.
